Day 2: Samburu National Reserve
Prepare yourself for an amazing region along the Ewaso Nyiro River. Samburu is home to some of Africa’s rarest game species. The river’s permanent waters abound with crocodiles and hippos and attract plenty of wildlife, including the shy oryx beisa, Grevy’s zebra, the long-necked gerunuk antelope, and the Somali ostrich. Cheetah, leopard, and lion are also found in the reserve. You will spend your morning game viewing, which commences after breakfast when the animals are most active. Get ready for photo shooting and coverage as your game spotter leads you in search of animals, and you’ll have plenty of opportunities to photograph your sightings. Retire to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. In the evening, go forth on additional game viewing.
